> If it can make an HTTPS request, it can page you. The SDKs use the same API.

## Set up

```bash
curl -X POST https://events.pagerless.dev/v1/events \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $PAGERLESS_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"events":[{"v":1,"id":"evt_2026_10_22_0001","type":"error","ts":'$(date +%s000)',"service":"api","route":"POST /checkout","status":500,"error":{"type":"StripeError","message":"card_declined rate spike"}}]}'
```

```bash
curl -X POST "https://events.pagerless.dev/v1/heartbeat?service=worker" -H "Authorization: Bearer $PAGERLESS_KEY"
```

```bash
./backup.sh && curl -X POST https://events.pagerless.dev/v1/checkins/nightly-backup -H "Authorization: Bearer $PAGERLESS_KEY"
```

## What it catches

- Errors you send, grouped into problems.
- Silence, when heartbeats stop for 5 minutes.
- Late, missed or failed scheduled jobs.

## Questions

### How do I make a custom event wake me?

Send `"type":"custom"` with `"severity":"wake"` and a `"title"`. Use `tell` for a message without a call.
